1972 Dresser… hmm??

I saw this beauty or not on Craigslist and instantly thought dining room. I love the mirrors and thought chalkboard with menu written on one side and a great quote on the other… I then thought you can’t keep it so quit thinking like that. Took me forever to decide on the color I wanted for it but I quickly came up with Annie Sloan’s Chateau Gray and Old Ochre. I love how it turned out so much that I listed it high and if it sells then I’ll part with it. If not I have a wonderful piece remaking the look of my dining room.

I had thought to keep the dark finish on the top but I wasn’t fond of it after painting the rest. So I used a dark stain on top of the paint and then finished off with the dark wax. I love how the top turned out. I used a little dark wax in some of the highlight areas and 2 coats of clear for protection. I sprayed the hardware with a nickle finish and then dry brushed the chateau gray over that. It just turned out so pretty if I do say so myself.

Pardon the lighting on the after pictures the dining room is a shade of blue grey that doesn’t do well with the chandelier and my camera… not much natural light coming in.

I have 3 more pieces I picked up this weekend that I am going to tackle tomorrow. I had to finish decorating for CHRISTmas today so I could just be done with that!! I love how it is all coming together but the staircase garland keeps growing into more and more… I will be sure to share that soon. Pictures to come soon!!
