Painted Table Makeover

I got an email that someone was interested in my little table at the shop that I have all the waxes and embellishments on.  Always custom painting, I don’t keep a huge amount of inventory and didn’t really have plans to sell it.  So, I gave a reasonable {aka to low of a price if I really didn’t want to sell it} and it sold!! I scoured craigslist for another reasonable priced table, as all the yard sales I could find at 1 pm on a Saturday were pretty much a dud!!  I found this one and emailed the owners who told me it was a solid oak Peter Revington table… Who’s Peter Revington?  Still not sure but this little table is on sale for $433 online at Wayfair if you would like one of your own… It isn’t my style but I knew it would serve the purpose and look so much better with paint.

But what would I paint it??? So I asked my facebook friends… and they said bold.  Hmmm… St. Anne is bold, I am tired of turquoise so that was out.  I don’t like oak and red… So I started with a base coat of Maison Blanche Vintage Hurricane to get rid of the oak.  And then it dawned on me… this is one of those pieces you love the oak is open and the hurricane was doing that beautiful Restoration Hardware washed look.  But I wanted to add a bit of color so I opted for Maison Blanche Vintage Robin’s Egg and a tub of Clorox wipes to continue the washed look… and here she is.  Not bold but I did opt to Mod Podge some old old book pages onto the drawers and change out the hardware.  I love it!!
