Pinterest is so inspiring…

I love to PIN PIN PIN!! And I also love to DO DO DO!! I sit putting Mia to bed and because I am the fun one I have to really work hard at not tickling or playing or talking to her… So I think about all the beautiful rooms I see on Pinterest and start creating the lists in my head of what I want to do in her room… As she is finally in the place I plan to keep her I can finally do whatever we want. And she’s 2 so we have her in a daybed and have begun going from baby to big girl!!

Here are a few things I have done… I painted stripes on just this one wall- will do the rest in a bit. I plan to put up chair rail as soon as I make to the ReStore to get it!! I refinished this beautiful French Provincial chest and put all the paintings Brookelyn has done for her on that wall as a focal point… I plan to paint frames around them all like I saw on pinterest and Pinned!! I also repainted her ugly brass fan with Annie Sloan’s chalk paint… It sticks to everything under the sun without priming. Yes it’s almost $40 a quart but it’s sooo worth it to me!! We all know I LOVE LOVE LOVE chalk paint!! It is my new best friend!!

Here is a sneak at what I have been up to in her room!!

Fan: i started with Paris Gray, didn’t like. Then Old Ochre which is a cream color but turned khaki on the gray… so then added a coat of Old White… charmed!! I painted the blades Versailles… I will say if I did this again I would take the blades off… good night nelly what a pain it was to try and paint around them… and I thought taking them down would take too long… Take them off and do yourself the favor!!

Before:

After: I did wax with both dark and clear wax. Rubbing many of the areas to bring all the layers I painted to come thru. I plan to go hunting some new globes!! Nothing ever really pretty about a fan but in Texas it’s a necessity!!

And the gorgeous dresser is redone in Provence and accented in Old Ochre. Minimal distressing and Clear Wax.

before: one of the hardware pieces in broken on the top drawer. The previous owner tried to repair but it didn’t look good or work good. So I have one ordered. It was hard to find but I did!! so excited!!

after:

I have the headboard and footboard to make a new daybed from… that is on the plan for my hunny to help me with list!! I have an inspiring Pin for that one too!!

And then I have the date with my sewing machine to sew ruffles on her curtains!! I am so excited to make all the changes. And it feels good to do somethings that you want done for your own home!!

Thanks for stopping in. Come back soon… I have so much more to share!!

  6. Love that color. Does it have a bit of teal to it? Any tips with ASCP?
