Painted Furniture Round Up

I know this will be a long post but it’s filled with pretties… I am sharing a painted furniture round up. I have been busy busy.

I love being so busy with new clients and a garage full of my own goodies to paint up… Currently redoing 2 tables sets, cedar chest for a client, just finished up a French Armoire and old desk… and have some pieces that I am doing and saving for Vintage Market Days!!! I’ll be traveling this summer for a market show!!

Here a few things I have finished…
Antique Ethan Allen corner desk. Done in ASCP French Linen and Country Grey- love how these colors are both feminine and masculine.

French Armoire done in ASCP Provence and Country Grey, lightly distressed and dark waxed over the clear wax. I also used a product I am loving on these french pieces- buff and rub.. I used Antique Gold on this one on the flowers, legs, lip area, and hardware.

Client Table…
It was beautiful to start with but she wanted to repair the top that had started peeling. She wanted a very distressed multicolor shabby chic…

I started with Annie Sloan’s Old White over the whole piece (minus the top). Then Paris Grey- not letting it fully dry and using a 220 sanding block/sponge- I distressed it pulling off the wet paint. If you have used chalk paint you know that it dries fast. So this became almost a game of paint and hurry to remove… You can get the same look letting it dry but you really have to sand and work harder at getting that same look. Then used dark wax to add in that extra layer of color and dimension. Buff and then coated with clear wax and buff… and I think my arms are begging me for a buffing pad for the sander. Then we did the top in French Linen and stained with a dark walnut and used both dark wax and clear wax.

She loved it and I love that she was sooo happy!! That’s the whole reason I do this- for that moment when the happy client is just that happy!!!

Another Client Piece

Done in beautiful ASCP Paris Gray and Old White accenting trim. This piece was definitely one of my favorites… For many reasons. I rarely paint in my house because the chalk paint create such a dust storm… but I was blessed with lots of clients that week and needed to put it in my dining room where I had just sold my own buffet to a client who came in to buy another piece… So it fit and I mean it fit!! I got a feel for what I was going to hunt down for myself!! She’s so pretty!! I’m hoping for pictures soon from her owner!! hint hint Emily!!
