Beautiful Painted Wardrobe

I just finished up one of the beautiful wardrobes I picked up for a steal from a  local yard sale.  I got the tip from my neighbor’s sister, Melissa of Beautifully Anew who paints furniture and such in Tennessee.  She was out with my neighbor and sad she couldn’t bring them home!! I on the other hand was not sad.  I was at the end of painting the amazing French pieces and needed a little break from what I was working on and this did the trick… Only who paints to take a break from painting I ask???

She has a sister.  Her paint job was not the best but I decided to go with it on this one… joys of using a chalk based paint.  It was peeling anywhere and chippy in some places just adds to the story.

I painted her with a base coat of Maison Blanche Jolie Blonde… but that was just not it… then I remembered this little can I had in the garage and I knew she would be beautiful in her Tiffany Blue color.  It’s actually called Spring Sky by Benjamin Moore but I do love her!! Accented her with Magnolia on her trim and carvings.  And used both MB clear and Fiddes Jacobean wax.  Distressed so you could see some of the yellow in places… but it’s subtle.  upper-details

I couldn’t leave the inside bare… so I gave it a coat or two of Creole Orange and then came back and stenciled with Silver Mink.  I added some washi tape just for fun and it’s easy to peel away without leaving any harm to the paint on the shelves.  I also decoupaged the shelves with a Tiffany blue paper.

It would be an awesome nursery, bathroom, or guest room addition.  The left side is long hanging and the open side above as you can see has a lower hanging rod.  ** Updated- SOLD Painted Wardrobe **
